Boost Portugal · downtown Lisbon
A Boost Portugal guide leads a small group from the downtown store along the Tagus to Belém on electric bikes, with a custard tart and a coffee on the way. Pick it for an easy, mostly car-free ride and the history in between; Belém Tower itself gets only a quick look.

Boost Portugal starts from its store on Largo do Terreiro do Trigo, downtown, with toilets, filtered water and Wi-Fi before you set off. After a short lesson on the e-bike you ride west along the river: Praça do Comércio, Ribeira das Naus, past Docas de Santo Amaro and under the 25 de Abril bridge, MAAT, then Belém. Guests describe cycle paths and walkways nearly all the way, and one counted about 24 km in total. A custard tart and a coffee are included; guests report the stop is in Belém, some at Pastéis de Belém.
Here's the catch for anyone reading a Belém Tower site: the itinerary gives the tower 3 minutes, outside, after 5 at Jerónimos and before 15 at the Padrão. And two recent reviews say they never got there. Lillian (September 2026, 3 stars) wrote that a bike chain kept coming off and the guide said there was no time for the tower. Hilary (June 2026, 4 stars) said the group stopped "significantly short of Belem", saw the tower only from a distance, and felt rushed throughout.
If the tower is the reason you're going, say so when you book, as a 2025 guest advised, or choose a tour that stops longer: the bike tour and the private tuk-tuk both give it 10 minutes. For everyone else the reviews are warm about the guides and the ride, with 4.8 from 243.

Past Docas de Santo Amaro and under the 25 de Abril bridge, then 5 minutes at MAAT.
The included custard tart and coffee, at the halfway point.
Five minutes outside Jerónimos, three at Belém Tower, fifteen at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos.

★★★★★Wonderful way to experience the Belém tower. Our guide was informative and respectful of our limitations and really took his time adjusting the trip to our capabilities. Highly recommend.
★★★★★Never used an e-bike before but it was easy to get to grips with and the route isn't hard to negotiate. [...] The ride itself took us away from the roads for almost all of the time along either cycle paths or walkways and the tour we did (along the river) had no hills so no problems there
★★★★★At the half way point we stopped in Belém bakery and had a complimentary coffee and scrumptious custard tart! [...] The weather was not favourable but she provided us with ponchos to keep us dry.
★★★★★A great way to experience the part of Lisbon between the old town all the way to Belém. [...] We spent just enough time at the monuments and Tower.
