Belém by private tuk-tuk

A driver-guide collects you from your hotel in central Lisbon and takes your group, and only your group, to Belém for two hours: custard tarts, Jerónimos, Belém Tower and the Padrão. Pick it if walking or cycling Belém isn't for you and you want the highlights with someone to ask.

Private Belém Tuk-Tuk Tour

About this experience

Viator does not name the supplier on this listing. What you get is a private tour with a local guide who drives, and pickup and drop-off within the city centre. Stay further out and you meet at Avenida da Liberdade 3, by Restauradores Square. From there it's west along the river to Belém for four timed stops: 10 minutes at Pastéis de Belém, 15 at Jerónimos, 10 at Belém Tower and 10 at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos. All outside. No tickets are included, and the tarts are on you.

The price is per person, tiered by group size, and the adult price applies to everyone. The $57 from-price is the lowest tier, for bigger groups; smaller ones pay more per head. Six is the most one tuk-tuk takes, and the operator admits that can feel tight. Children aged 7 and under are not legally allowed to ride.

Two warnings come straight from the listing. Lisbon's streets are very bumpy, so it's not recommended for bad backs, and people with stiff knees can struggle getting in and out. The 45 reviews average 5.0; the newest we could read dates from May 2025, so the record is solid rather than fresh.

What guests say

★★★★★

The company communicated to me days priir that they will pick us up at our hotel. Our guide name is Tiago. He arrived 30 minutes early and communicated he's already outside of the hotel but for us not to rush! He's very fun, knowledgeable and very personable!

Our guide was wonderful and provided us with plenty of historic facts related to the Belem district. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the pastry shop as well. It was a short tour but I would recommend it for those of you who have only a short time in Lisbon.

The 2 hour tour of the Belem District was great. Our guide was very knowledgable about the area. There were several things that we wanted to see where he stopped and let us take photos.

Karin met us at the cruise port and took us on a very informative 2hr tour with several stops including Belem for us to get some of the famous Pasteis de Nata. We extended the tour to 3hrs as we were having a great time [...]

Tips before you book

  • Confirm your pickup point with the operator before the day; the listing asks you to.
  • The takeaway counter at Pastéis de Belém moves fast, so ten minutes is enough for a box of tarts.
  • A group of six? Look at the listing's photos of a full tuk-tuk first. The operator says some guests find it tight.
  • Enjoying it? A cruise guest stretched the tour from 2 to 3 hours on the day. Ask your guide.
  • For the inside of the tower, book a EUR 15 slot on the official shop for another time. It's open Tuesday to Sunday.
