Cooltour Lisbon · Belém
A Cooltour Lisbon guide meets you at the Jerónimos Monastery, takes you through the cloister and the church with tickets included, then walks you down to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and Belém Tower. Pick it for Jerónimos, Portugal's most visited monument, explained properly; the tower is a stop outside.

Read the title carefully: the ticket in this listing is for Jerónimos Monastery, not Belém Tower. Cooltour Lisbon includes the entrance and a guided visit of the cloister (EUR 18 face value for an adult) and access to the Church of Santa Maria de Belém, with the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões. Jerónimos takes up to 2 hours of the itinerary. Then you walk to the river: 30 minutes at the Padrão dos Descobrimentos and 30 at Belém Tower, both outside.
Pricing is tiered by group size. The $195 from-price is the lowest per-person tier; smaller groups pay more per head, and Viator shows your total once you enter the number of travellers. Tours run in English, Portuguese, French or Spanish, in the morning or the afternoon. The walk down to the river is an option, which is why the length reads 2 to 4 hours. At least two people must book.
The 2025 reviews are useful. Most praise guides by name and the early entry to Jerónimos, where the 09:30 slot has its own lane for guided groups. The complaints: headsets that kept failing, one group told to arrive before the 09:30 opening and left waiting 45 minutes, no flags at check-in, and tours that skipped Belém Tower while it was closed for restoration (April 2025 to May 2026). The tower is open again, but this tour still doesn't go in. One more quirk: the listing calls itself private, yet also mentions a standard group size of 15 and multilingual guides, and a guest's guide translated several languages on the walk.
In front of the monastery entrance on Praça do Império, next to the plaque marking the church. The guide holds a blue and yellow flag.
The Manueline cloister with the guide, then the Church of Santa Maria de Belém and its royal and literary tombs.
From the monastery across the gardens to the waterfront.
Outside the ship-shaped monument, with the guide naming the figures on its prow. No entry to the viewpoint.
Along the river to the tower for the story and photos from the shore. No ticket, no entry.
★★★★★Lenora was well spoken, full of historic facts about Lisbon and Portugal, and overall a great guide. She had good timing and the pace of the tour was perfect. I would pick her again!
★★★★★Great tour with Camilla. Very patient and informative. The monastery is beautiful. The stained glass in the church is stunning. Learned much more with guide then if we had done it alone.
★★★★★Early entrance to Jeronimos Monastery was so worthwhile. Our guide provided such rich and colorful history! Learned so much.
★★★★★The monument dedicated to the Discoverers was beautiful. The information provided by the guide explaining who each person was on the monument was very helpful in understanding the history and significance of this site.

No. The included ticket is for Jerónimos (the cloister, EUR 18 at face value) plus the church. Belém Tower is a 30-minute stop outside. Tower tickets cost EUR 15 on the official shop if you want to go in afterwards.
Pricing is tiered by group size, and $195 per person is the lowest tier on Viator. Smaller groups pay more per person, so enter your group size on the listing to see the total. Prices move with the season.
The listing says only your group takes part, with a minimum of two. It also says a standard group is limited to 15 and the guide may be multilingual, depending on the group. One 2025 review describes a guide translating several languages, another several groups checking in at once. Ask Cooltour Lisbon after booking if a one-group tour matters to you.
Some did. The tower closed for restoration in April 2025 and reopened to visitors on 27 May 2026; a July 2025 guest says her group never went there. With the tower open again, the 30-minute outside stop is back.
